- What is free, and what do I pay for?
- Your journal is free forever, with no card. That is unlimited journal entries, encrypted on your device before they are stored, plus dark mode, export, and access from every device you use. Plus is the paid tier at $6 a month billed annually at $72 a year, or $12 a month billed monthly, and it adds the guide and the paths.
- What do I get with Plus?
- An AI guide who remembers you from one conversation to the next, and guided multi-day paths you can start whenever you want. Your journal comes with it, and stays free either way. When you use an AI feature, your device decrypts what that request needs and sends it through our AI proxy to our AI provider. It is not stored or logged along the way.
- How long is the free trial, and do I need a credit card?
- 14 days, and no card. A trial never turns into a paid subscription by itself. We email you the day before it ends, and when it does you can keep journaling for free as long as you like.
- Can I cancel any time, and what happens to my journal entries?
- Yes, from the account menu in the app, with no phone call and nobody to talk you out of it. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Nothing you wrote is deleted because a subscription ended. It stays encrypted, it stays yours, and you can export all of it at any time on any plan.
- Do you offer refunds?
- Yes. Email hello@kindmind.com within 14 days of a charge and we will refund it. Outside that window payments are not refundable except where the law says otherwise, and if we ever discontinue the service we refund the unused part of any prepaid period. The Terms of Service have the full version.
- What happens to what I wrote in a paid feature if I go back to free?
- It is preserved, not deleted. Content that belongs to a feature outside your current plan is hidden in the app while that feature is off, kept exactly as you left it, and back the moment you subscribe again. It is in your export the whole time, and that export unlocks with your password or your recovery key, because we hold no key that would let us produce it any other way.
- Is annual cheaper than monthly?
- Yes. Save 50% by paying for the year: $6 a month billed annually at $72, against $12 a month billed monthly. You can switch between the two whenever you like from your account.
